Felton Grove History: 1892 Photo

Yesterday I obtained a photo of a group of campers that was likely, but not positively, taken at Felton Grove in 1892. The back of the photo has a list of names and the words, “Maple Grove Camp”. Felton Grove was called Maple Grove for a few years before people realized the trees were actually Sycamores, not Maples. Postcard collector and Historian, Ed Herny, graciously allowed me to scan his photo, front and back. He told me he’d purchased the photo from someone who said the photo came from a Santa Cruz family.

Probably Felton Grove, then called Maple Grove 1892. Courtesy of Ed Herny.
