Felton Grove: Camp Counselors 1936

Counselors, Felton Grove June 1936, Camp Bruning, Santa Cruz, California.

Camp Bruning was started in Felton Grove in 1933/34 by Capt. Ed Dougherty and was later called Capt. Ed’s Boyland until it closed in the late 1950’s. Capt. Ed and his wife lived in the house behind what is now the Felton Bible Church. More photos soon.

I did time at Capt. Ed’s Boyland two or three successive summers in the late 50s/early 60s. I’m unsure of the years now.

Hi AC, Any photos or stories you’d like to share about the camp, dance hall or Felton Grove? Thanks for your comment! Vicki
