My family moved to Felton in the early 1930′s. All six of of us kids went to the old Felton Grammer School. I graduated from the 8th. grade there in 1947. That was the last year the school was open. AS a teenager I went to dances at Felton Grove in the mid to late 40′s. Also at one time there was free square dances, Such wonderful memories growing up in that little town.. I also went to the baseball games when they were at the park down near the entrance to what was then called Big Trees Park.

Hi Bobbie, Thank you SO MUCH for sharing some of your memories of Felton and Felton Grove and dancing at the Hall! Will you share more recollections? It is wonderful to hear stories from the folks who lived these experiences. Can you describe what the neighborhood of Felton Grove and/or the town of Felton was like? The Grove would have been a few cabins and some summer tent cabins. Did you swim in the river? Drive across the Covered Bridge? What did you do in your spare time when not in school? Did your family have a business here? Where in Felton did you live? Do you have any old photos I could scan? I have a portable scanner. I’m excited to be in touch with you! Please share anything you can think of. It’s helps us all see things through your eyes.

Bobbie, Do you recall what was at the entrance to Felton Grove as seen in the first photo above? Was there a gas pump? It looks like there was one in the photo. Auto repair building? Store? The train probably no longer ran in front of Felton Grove? Any details of Felton Grove and Felton greatly appreciated!
